Kontiki Bamboo Company Overview
Kontiki Bamboo Works LTD. (Kontiki Bamboo) is a Ugandan registered business in 2018 and founded by Dr Koojo Charles Amooti.
We are located in the Albertine Graben of the Western Rift Valley in western Uganda and producing high-quality bamboo products for environmentally conscious consumers.
We are sustainable and eco-friendly enterprise offering environmentally sound alternative products for the construction and hospitality industry, reducing dependence on non-bio gradable materials and contributing to a greener circular economy and more sustainable future.
We will expand our current 780-acre bamboo plantation to 1200 acres to ensure a steady supply of high-quality raw materials by 2025.
Bamboo will be very crucial as part of the community reafforestation in the region through setting up “Bamboo Per household Initiative” targeting 100 million bamboo seedlings.
Kontiki Bamboo has invested worth USD 450,000 and is capable of creating over 50,000 new jobs over the next 5 years.
Our comprehensive approach encompasses various initiatives, including farmer training and seedling provision, sensitization and awareness campaigns highlighting bamboo's unique advantages, the cultivation of sustainable farming methods, and the green circular manufacturing of diverse bamboo-based items.
