Hoima, Uganda - Kontiki Bamboo Works Ltd (KBWL) continues to showcase its commitment to sustainability and innovation through its Carpentry and Crafts Workshop, where premium furniture and crafts are designed and crafted from locally grown bamboo.

The workshop, located within KBWL's premises, is a hive of creativity and craftsmanship, where skilled artisans transform bamboo harvested from KBWL's well-grown plantations into exquisite pieces of furniture and crafts. With a focus on quality and sustainability, the workshop produces a range of premium products including chairs, beds, lamps, baskets, and more.

"Our Carpentry and Crafts Workshop is a testament to the versatility and beauty of bamboo as a material," said Dr. Koojo Charles Amooti, the founder of KBWL. "We are proud to employ local talent and utilize locally sourced bamboo to create sustainable masterpieces that cater to both the local and export markets."

Employing a total of 18 individuals, including 10 males and 8 females, the workshop not only contributes to the local economy but also provides valuable employment opportunities within the community. Skilled artisans meticulously craft each piece, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

"Our goal is to showcase the beauty of bamboo while promoting sustainable livelihoods," explained one of the artisans. "Through our work, we hope to inspire others to embrace bamboo as a versatile and eco-friendly material."
